Great lighting for a small venue

How a neighbourhood venue could run polished lighting shows from a laptop, designed by staff who aren't lighting specialists.

The story

Rosa's music venue has a mix of second-hand lights and no budget for a lighting console or a full-time technician. Bands notice, and so do audiences.

Browser-based show design works with the fixtures she already owns. Her bar staff build a few house looks, and volunteers get simple buttons for show nights.

Now the room looks as good as it sounds.

What it makes possible

  • Shows run from any laptop
  • Staff adjust looks between events
  • Works with lights the venue already owns
  • Simple controls for volunteers
